Getting Back to Work

Getting Back to Work

It's been a long moment since we've last launched new styles.  Since our launch, I (Anna) have experienced a real rollercoaster of emotions and life experiences in general.  At points I wondered if I'd ever get back to really working on this brand.  The creative process is so linked to my mental health and at some points, I did not have the capacity - and really was just too scared - to create and dream and plan for this brand.

Thankfully, I've made my way back to Anna Gray Collection, and as scary and vulnerable as it is to work on it again, it's also been exciting and energizing and uplifting for me.  Life is full of ups and downs, and I hope each of us can find the things that bring us joy and implement them into our lives.  I share this to say that life is not always as it seems on social media or even in some conversations.  We are all dealing with so much more than meets the eye, and it's courageous to keep showing up and keep trying.  So here's to you and whatever you're working towards, believing for and not giving up on.

In some ways these two new styles feel like little miracles.  The process to get to this point seemed to be filled with more potholes and roadblocks this time around than it seemed to be for the first styles we released. Seeing them in the flesh and on the website is proof to myself that I'm not giving up and that we're still standing.  Proof that fashion can be and is fun.  While I love each of my coats and each one is semi-autobiographical in some ways, these two - the Fagan and the Jackie - are an even more accurate depiction of the direction I see for Anna Gray Collection - color, vibrance and fun.  If we can't have fun with what we're wearing, what are we even doing?!

So as we launch these two new coats, I encourage you and myself to keep showing up, keep facing those fears and keep allowing room for vulnerability.  That's where the magic and miracles happen and also the really good fashion.
